Working with tasks

A task is created on a board, moves between status columns and contains fields: title, description, assignee, due date, priority, tags.

Creating a task

There are two ways to create a task. In both cases it is created with the New status.

Quick creation on the board

  1. In the initial status column (New) click Add task — a card with an input field appears at the top of the column.
  2. Enter the task title (up to 255 characters).
  3. Press Enter or the check mark next to the field.

The task is created with the board's default task type and the current user as assignee.

Creation via the side panel

  1. In the toolbar click Add — the Create task panel opens on the right.
  2. Fill in the fields (required marked with an asterisk): Task type, Title (required), Description, Assignee (required), Due date, Tags, Priority.
  3. Click Create.

The Cancel button (or the cross) closes the panel without saving.

Changing status

Drag the task card to the required column. Columns available for transition are highlighted green, unavailable ones red. If you drop the card over an unavailable column, it returns to the original one.

In the table, status is changed via the row context menu: … → Change status.

⚠️

If the message "You do not have permission to change the task status" appears, you lack rights for this transition — the card returns to the original column.

Reassignment

To change the assignee, open the task, select a new user in the Assignee field and save. The new and previous assignee receive a notification.

To reassign tasks in bulk, use the table: select tasks with checkboxes and choose Bulk operations → Reassign.

Archiving a task

Archiving removes a task from active views without deleting it.

  1. Open the card (on the board) or row (in the table) context menu via .
  2. Select Archive.

In bulk — via Bulk operations → Archive in the table. Archived tasks are available through the Archive view.

💡

Archiving a task does not depend on its status and does not move its subtasks to the archive.
